Ever wanted to draw Star Wars characters and vehicles just like the professional comic book artists? In this step-by-step series, Star Wars artists and illustrators show you how to draw some of the most beloved characters in the saga.
Star Wars illustrator Nicole Falk explains with these easy-to-follow steps how to draw Princess Leia dressed as the Bride of Frankenstein just in time for Halloween. Steps 1-4 are to be drawn lightly with a pencil. Finished lines and details will come at the end.

Step One:
Draw lightly with pencil all the basic shapes that make up Princess Leia,
like the ovals, circles, and body lines. This will help place where the
body, arms, head and buns will go. This is also where you decide the outline
for your pose.

Step Two:
Next sketch in the form of Princess Leia on top of your original outline. Draw her buns frizzy and electrified, like a Bride of Frankenstein bun twist! Sketch in Leia's basic tunic dress, but instead of flowing dress arms. Let's cut it at the shoulders for some future monster-y goodness.

Step Three:
Here you can start adding in the lines that create a more detailed and 3-D look. Now that you have the frizzy electric buns, add in some lightning bolt streaks. Where we left those arms bare, start wrapping them up in your best mummified monster bandages. Hanging pieces give it a better sewn-together-monster look! Since this is a monster, tear up the dress a little too!

Step Four:
Here is where you can add in more details. Add in some hair lines on her head and buns for a crazier look. Draw in her face with eyes, eyebrows, nose and her mouth. Don't forget that stitch line on her face! Tighten up some of those bandaged wrap lines on her arms and mess up the dress a little more.

Step Five:
Is our Princess Leia Frankenstein looking creepy enough? Then you can go
over the pencil with some dark pencil or ink. Use a pen, a dark-colored
pencil or a fine tip marker. Be careful, stay on those lines, after all your
hard work, keep this part clean!

Step Six:
Since you did such nice work on our Leia-Frankenstein, we should set her up
at a great Halloween party! Don't forget to give her a friend, our own
R2-Drac2. You can also "carve" up a Star Wars pumpkin and add it in. Always
remember you can use your own imagination too. That is the fun part of
drawing, it can be anything you want! Where would you put her? A Laboratory?
On a ship? In a haunted house?

Step Seven:
Now you can color your drawing anyway you want. You can use colored pencils
or crayons, watercolors or markers. You can even color it the computer. It's
completely up to you. Hope you liked my Halloween Star Wars Mash-Up. Have a
spooky Halloween!
