In homage to one of the biggest adventure sagas in cinematic history, Adult Swim über-creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich incorporated tons of plastic action figures, brilliant execution of stop-motion animation and a touch of the Force to create the Robot Chicken: STAR WARS special -- and now it makes its way to a bonus-feature filled DVD from Warner Home Video and Adult Swim on July 22nd.
Brazenly combining the satirical style of Green and Senreich's Stoopid Monkey Productions and the creative team at ShadowMachine, headed by Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico, and inspired by the unforgettable moments and favorite characters of the Star Wars galaxy, the Robot Chicken: STAR WARS special intertwines the staples of George Lucas's universe with "yo' momma" battles, spoofs on George Dubya, and besotted fanboys. Green directed the special, which earned him this year's Annie Award for Directing in an Animated TV Production. It's everything the fans have come to expect of the hit television series and more. So very much more.
Seth Green tells StarWars.com exclusively, "Being a lifelong Star Wars fan, it's mindblowing to have made a Star Wars project that isn't for exclusive viewing in my living room. So obviously, we're thrilled to get this out and let people have it for exclusive viewing in their living rooms."
Green and Matthew Senreich continue co-executive producing, co-directing and co-writing Emmy-nominated "Robot Chicken," the stop-motion animation parody sketch series they created for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. The duo, who head Stoopid Monkey Productions, are currently in pre-production for the upcoming season of "Robot Chicken." Green also continues supplying the voice of Chris Griffin on Fox's "Family Guy."
Green wrapped Walt Disney Pictures/Tapestry Films feature, Old Dogs, playing the advance man for John Travolta and Robin Williams. Green has starred in films for over two decades including Without a Paddle, The Italian Job, Party Monster and all three Austin Powers movies. He has also starred in numerous television series.
To pull off this parody, the Emmy® winning Robot Chicken guys enlisted the help of big Hollywood names, former boy-band members and even George Lucas himself. In addition to Lucas's cameo appearance in a hilarious fan-convention scene, other celebrities voices include: Conan O'Brien, Seth MacFarlane, Malcolm McDowell, Hulk Hogan, James Van Der Beek, Robert Smigel, Donald Faison, Abraham Benrubi, co-writer Breckin Meyer and Joey Fatone.
The Robot Chicken: STAR WARS DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $14.97 and boasts a wide range of bonus features including:
- Chicken Nuggets (Sketch by Sketch Video Commentary)

- On-Air Bumps
- Trailers
- Behind-the-Scenes Featurette

Robot Chicken: STAR WARS was created and executive produced by Green and Senreich under their own Stoopid Monkey Productions, in conjunction with Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico's ShadowMachine. The special debuted on Adult Swim in June 2007. The duo also executive produce, write (with head writers Doug Goldstein and Tom Root) and direct (with Chris McKay) the series, with Green providing many of the voices in both the special and the series, which is currently finishing up its third season on Adult Swim.
